AI-Powered Health & Wellbeing Interactive Experiences for Emirates Health Services

NXT Interactive designed and developed two AI-powered interactive installations aimed at promoting awareness around physical fitness and emotional wellbeing. The project combined immersive UI/UX design, AI integrations, IoT-based hardware interaction, and real-time analytics to create engaging experiences that encouraged participants to reflect on their health and lifestyle habits.


The two experiences developed were PowerPath Ride & Run – Personalised Fitness Race and Life Balance Emotion Analyzer – AI Wellbeing Experience. Both installations were engineered to operate in a live event environment while capturing participant data and delivering personalised insights.

The project combined immersive UI/UX design, AI integrations, IoT-based hardware interaction, and real-time analytics to create engaging experiences that encouraged participants to reflect on their health and lifestyle habits.


The two experiences developed were PowerPath Ride & Run – Personalised Fitness Race and Life Balance Emotion Analyzer – AI Wellbeing Experience. Both installations were engineered to operate in a live event environment while capturing participant data and delivering personalised insights.

Experience 1: PowerPath Ride & Run – Personalised Fitness Race

A treadmill-based interactive race experience where participants compete against an AI-generated digital twin representing their ideal fitness level.

Design & Development Features

Custom UI/UX Design

  • Designed an intuitive registration and gameplay interface suitable for a public event environment.

  • Created a clear visual flow guiding users from registration to race start and performance summary.

  • Developed an engaging on-screen race interface with real-time metrics and competitive visuals.

AI-Based Digital Twin Generation

  • Built a system that generates a personalised AI avatar representing the participant’s optimal fitness potential based on demographic inputs.

  • The avatar acts as a virtual competitor during the race, creating a motivational and competitive experience.

Interactive Fitness Gameplay

  • Integrated the treadmill with the software system to translate physical running into digital race movement.

  • Built a real-time race simulation where participants run alongside their digital twin avatar.

Live Performance Metrics Display

  • Real-time display of key running metrics including:

    • Speed

    • Distance

    • Heart rate (sensor-enabled when available)

Post-Experience Insights

  • Developed a summary screen comparing participant performance against the AI twin.

  • Displayed motivational fitness insights and improvement suggestions.

Data Capture & Registration System

  • Built a registration interface capturing:

    • Name

    • Email

    • Gender

    • Age

  • Implemented email validation rules to restrict internal organisational domains.

  • Integrated consent-based data capture to ensure user agreement before participation.

IoT & Hardware Integration

  • Integrated the treadmill with the digital race system.

  • Developed sensor communication logic to synchronise physical running with on-screen movement.

Analytics Dashboard

  • Developed an admin dashboard allowing organisers to:

    • View participant data

    • Monitor usage

    • Export captured data in Excel format.

  • Integrated facial expression recognition technology using a high-definition camera.

  • Developed real-time emotional analysis based on micro-expressions and facial cues.

Consent-Based User Interaction Flow

  • Designed an introductory interface explaining facial tracking and requesting user consent before the experience begins.

Dynamic Wellbeing Content System

  • Developed a theme-based display engine presenting wellbeing-related topics such as:

    • Stress

    • Work-life balance

    • Social wellbeing

    • Lifestyle routines.

Real-Time Emotional Response Analysis

  • Built a system that detects and categorises emotional reactions into:

    • Neutral

    • Concerned/negative responses.

Adaptive Insight Engine

  • Designed logic that filters neutral or positive reactions.

  • Focuses analysis only on themes triggering concern or negative responses.

Personalised Wellbeing Feedback

  • Generated non-clinical, supportive lifestyle suggestions based on detected emotional triggers.

  • Designed a gentle and encouraging recommendation framework rather than medical diagnosis.

Visual Experience Design

  • Developed a minimal, calming UI aligned with wellbeing messaging.

  • Ensured clarity and accessibility for users in a public environment.

Technology Stack & System Architecture

Both installations were engineered with a combination of interactive software systems, AI modules, and hardware integration, including:

  • 55-inch 4K display screens for immersive visual output

  • High-performance laptops running the experience software

  • HD cameras for facial tracking

  • Treadmill and sensor integration

  • Custom UI/UX software applications

  • Backend analytics and data management systems.

Outcome

By combining AI personalisation, IoT-enabled hardware integration, and engaging digital storytelling, the project successfully transformed health awareness into interactive experiences.

The installations allowed Emirates Health Services to engage participants through technology-driven participation while encouraging reflection on both physical fitness and emotional wellbeing in an accessible and engaging format.
